Description
Playschool with Elephants – Half day (PM) tour – inc. lunch
Overview
Experience to learn how to be an elephant caretaker or ‘Mahout’ in a half-day adventure
Detailed Description
The mahouts have a special bond with each elephant based on trust, respect and understanding. It is awe-inspiring to observe the complex communication and gentle interaction between the mahouts and the elephants. We are fortunate to have mahouts in our company who care deeply for the welfare of our elephants, while sharing, teaching and bringing our guests into their special world.
The adventure begins:
Spend several hours learning how to be a ‘mahout’ – an elephant caretaker.
Change into a mahout’s outfit and take a short walk out to meet with the elephants.
Alongside a real mahout, you will learn how to approach the elephants and judge their temperament and gain their trust.
You will be able to feed them and be amazed as you watch their trunks skillfully scoop up food offered to them.
After watching them eating, having already secured your special bond with the elephant and gained its trust, observe or maybe even help the mahouts as they bathe and play with the elephants, which helps them cool off and cleanse their thick skins.
